- Green's Windmill and Science Centre A restored and working 19th century tower windmill. Owned and operated in the 19th century by the mathematical physicist George Green. You may tour the mill (especially on a windy day!) and discover the process of turning grain into flour.

- Newstead Abbey.
A beautiful historic house set in a glorious landscape of gardens and parkland within the heart of Nottinghamshire. Founded as a monastic house in the late 12th century, Newstead became the seat of the Byron family in 1540 and was home to the poet Lord Byron. B&B search>>
