How long has The Bed and Breakfast Guide been in operation?
This is the ninth year of The Bed and Breakfast Guide website. We are delighted to say that in 2008 our visitor numbers were up over 200% and 2009 is continuing that trend. Not only have visitors numbers grown substantially every year but bookings for our featured B&B's have also seen massive growth.
How many visitors/bookings can I expect from The B&B Guide?
As you will appreciate we are not able to collect data on the number of bookings you, and other B&B's on the site have - particularly as in the majority of cases we direct traffic to your own websites. The Guide does generate bookings. The number of bookings will also depend on your location and the placing you have on The Bed and Breakfast Guide.
What is the best way to get bookings from The Bed and Breakfast Guide?
The Featured B&B's are given the highest profile on The Bed and Breakfast Guide. In addition to their own dedicated pages, the Featured B&B is pictured at the top of the relevant county page and all the towns in that county. So anyone looking for a B&B in a particular town/county will have the most chance of seeing the Featured B&B.
After the Featured B&B's, the next rank in the directory listings is for those that have paid listing. While not as high profile as a Featured B&B it still guarantees good early position in the relevant directory town/county pages.

After filling in the form how long will it take for my Featured B&B page or directory listing to go live?
We aim to turn most requests around within a few days although this will depend upon current workloads (we have a small but dedicated team). Although some of the processes are automated we prefer to check all pages individually to ensure that you are getting the best value from your entry. How many pictures can I have?
A Featured B&B page allows 5 pictures. You may also use a different one on the directory pages if you require.
How do I supply photos to you?
If you have a website we will normally take the photos from there to save you sending us anything and to get your page done quickly.
If you would prefer to select your own pictures or do not have a website then you can e-mail your pictures to us as info@thebedandbreakfastguide.co.uk. We can deal with most shapes and sizes as we will cut them down to the right size (about 150 pixels wide) and put them in to gif format (to make them quicker to load on the page).
I do not have a PayPal account, do I need one?
Paypal is the leading internet payment facility, which is part of the eBay group. While you can pay using your own personal Paypal account, you can also pay by all the major credit and debit cards.

Can I pay by cheque?
Paypal/credit card payments are the quickest way to get your page/entry live but if you would prefer to pay by cheque then please please contact us and we will advise you of the relevant details. Please note that we will wait for the cheque to clear before commencing work on your page.
How do I update my B&B details or featured page?
Simply please contact us the changes you would like to make and sit back and let us do all the hard work for you.

As we are keen to continue driving visitors to your listing we would request that all of our directory and featured B&B's include a simple text link to The Bed and Breakfast Guide on their websites.
How does a link help?
Most of the search engines take in to account the number ofinbound links a website has. So if all of our supporting B&B's include a link on their site it will help improve The Bed and Breakfast Guide's overall search engine positions - which will mean even more visitors and therefore more people seeing your B&B.
How do I add a link?
All we would like is a simple word statement on your web page along the lines 'Featued on The Bed and Breakfast Guide' with a link to our home page.
